When does the grant cycle begin?
Cycle 3 begins in September. Selected projects will be announced in April 2009.

How much funding is Available?
There is $2,500,000 available for Cycle 3. The maximum request/project limits will be $45,000 for non-infrastructure projects and $250,000 for infrastructure projects.

What types of projects are eligible?
Applicants can apply for non-infrastructure and infrastructure projects in Cycle 3. Each of these will use separate application forms. Applicants may submit as many applications as they desire.

How can I apply?
Go to the 'How To Apply' tab and download an application for the type of program/funding you desire.

Can I apply for more than one year of funding?
Yes. Applicants can apply for up to three years of funding - for non-infrastructure projects only. However, if you do you must submit only ONE additional infrastructure application and/or only ONE additional non-infrastructure application.

Are web resources available?
Yes, additional Resources are available.

What data collection is required?
If your project is selected, you will be expected to count the number of students walking and biking to school. You will submit this data to ADOT on a quarterly basis.

How are projects selected/evaluated?
The Safe Routes To School Advisory Committee will review and select the winning projects. Futhermore, local Council of Governments (COGs) and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) will have the opportunity to rank applications from their jurisdictions.
